The Hairdressing program at the Bucks County School of Beauty Culture is a comprehensive program designed to give students basic and advanced job related skills to become a profitable professional in the exciting world of Hair Artistry! The Hairdressing program also offers students the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the industry with optional program combinations.

This program includes four (4) individual courses (classes): Hairdressing One (HR1), Hairdressing Two (HR2), and Hairdressing Clinic One (HRC1). Lastly, a student can take either Hairdressing Clinic Two (HRC2) OR chose one non-hair course (Esthetics or Nails).
Hairdressing One (HR1)
- 12 weeks full time days / 23 weeks part time evenings*
- Maximum Time Frame = 360 hours
- Satisfactory Academic Progress = 83.34%
- Minimum Graduation requirement = 300 hours
Hairdressing One (HR1) is the first course of stepping into your new career! With a dedicated instructor, you will begin your training with hands on skills (working on manikins) while exploring the History of Cosmetology. Through lectures, classroom assignments and practical skill training, this is where it all begins!
One of the primary goals of Hairdressing One is to prepare a student to move forward into the next class with the primary skills needed in Hairdressing Two.

Hairdressing Two (HR2)
- 12 weeks full time days / 23 weeks part time evenings*
- Prerequisite: Hairdressing One
- Maximum Time Frame = 360 hours
- Satisfactory Academic Progress = 83.34%
- Minimum Graduation requirement = 300 hours
Hairdressing Two (2) is the second course of the Hairdressing Core Program. Hairdressing Two is a transitory unit of the Hairdressing program designed to polish the basic skills learned in Hairdressing One. Hairdressing Two insures each student’s progress prior to becoming a dedicated clinic student. The Hairdressing Two instructor will supervise your clinic experiences while still working on manikins but now allowing you to start practicing your skills on clients. This course promotes & helps students gain confidence and agility. A secondary goal of Hairdressing Two, is to prepare a student to move forward into the next course as a dedicated Hairdressing Clinic Student.
Hairdressing Clinic One (HRC1)
- 12 weeks full time days / 22 weeks part time evenings*
- Prerequisites: Hairdressing One and Two
- Maximum Time Frame = 360 hours
- Satisfactory Academic Progress = 83.34%
- Minimum Graduation requirement = 300 hours
Hairdressing clinic one (HRC1) is the first dedicated clinic experience where a student will be working on clients in a Salon like atmosphere. Students are directly supervised by their Instructor who will be grading them daily on their academic progress and completion of any clinical service. Hairdressing Clinic Two (HRC2)
- 14 weeks full time days / 26 weeks part time evenings*
- Prerequisites: Hairdressing One, Two and Hairdressing Clinic One
- Maximum Time Frame = 420 hours
- Satisfactory Academic Progress = 83.34%
- Minimum Graduation requirement = 350 hours
Hairdressing clinic two (HRC2) is an optional continuation (for Hairdressing only students) to the dedicated clinical experiences. The instructor grades students’ clinical work on people by the use of generic lesson plans (procedure guides). Students are graded daily on their progress, attitudes and maintaining satisfactory progress to graduate.
